        Throughout much of Asia, education is seen as the only path to success. Parental demands, fear of failure, competition and pride are fueling Asia's academic ascension.
        
        Simply put, children in Asia study with a purpose.
        
        "There is a mentality of a first tier," said Hwy-Chang Moon, professor and dean of Seoul National University's graduate school of international studies in South Korea. "You have to be first-rate, otherwise you may not be able to survive."
        
        In dozens of interviews at nine Asian schools and universities, college officials, faculty, principals and parents repeated the same terms when describing the typical Asian student: committed, diligent, competitive, passionate, focused and ambitious.

        Anti-intellectualism
        
        Anti-intellectualism refers to a student's lack of interest in and disrespect for intellectual pursuits and critical thinking and a preference for an education experience that is practical and requires only memorization.
        
        50% of American high school graduates are unprepared for college-level reading.[33] John Traphagan of the University of Texas attributes this to a culture of anti-intellectualism, noting that nerds and other intellectuals are often stigmatized in American schools and popular culture.[33] At universities, student anti-intellectualism has resulted in the social acceptability of cheating on schoolwork, especially in the business schools, a manifestation of ethically expedient cognitive dissonance rather than of academic critical thinking
        
        American kids value sports too much and don’t prioritize education like they need, but in America , they believe everyone has a right to education even if they are slower or have handicaps.
        
        According to the Pew Research Center, education ranks among the public's top ten policy priorities, coming in at number six. At first glance, this may seem impressive, but Pew also reports that in general, Americans have a declining interest in education.
        
        however, US maintain the best in education
        
        because American schools are well known for providing high-quality education through a balanced, tried-and-tested curriculum. The US education system is informed by cutting-edge research, which helps develop students into critical thinkers with well-rounded social-emotional skills.
