        PWDs have equal access to public facilities, healthcare services, and recreational activities. It also created a National Council for Persons with Disabilities which makes legislative recommendations regarding disability law to the Malaysian government and promotes employment of people with disabilities.

        To register, one must obtain a registration form from the Malaysian Department of Social Welfare, have it verified by a medical professional to affirm PWD status, and submit the form along with identification documents to the department (Information on Registration for People with Disabilities).
