levels of organisms- cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems.

cell- provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions

organism- growth, movement, reproduction, respiration, nutrition and excretion. in the excretion, there are 5 parts to the organ

nervous system- transmits signals between the brain and the rest of the body, including internal organs
spinal cord- sends motor commands from the brain to the body, sends sensory information form the body to the brain, and coordinate reflexes.

brain- controls thought, emotion, memory, touch, motor skills, breathing, vision, etc.
skeletal system- gives the body its shape, allows movement, makes blood cells, provides protection for organs and stores minerals

cartilage- resist compressive forces, enhance bone resilience, and provide support on bony areas where there is a need for flexibility.
bone- provides shape and support for the body, as well as protection for some organs.

immune system- protects your body from harmful substances, germs and cell changes that could make you ill.

digestive system- breaks down food into nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
