Criterion C: Creating
Criterion A: Investigating
Criterion D: Evaluating
Criterion B: Developing
Why: My knowledge regarding the theme of the unit and the main forms to be focused on, will expand with research. This will help me in the other criterion, to create a prototype, an artwork, and evaluate my performance.
How: Conducting research online with my inquiry statements and questions, based on the statement of inquiry. Understanding mediums and techniques that can help me express myself and express culture, and that I can use to represent animal anatomy.
What: Gaining a knowledge and understanding of the unit SOI and concepts. Understanding past art movements and artists who created animal forms, to gain inspiration for my artwork.
How: Creating prototypes based on the inquiry process I developed. I will also use tools like mind maps, graphic organizers, etc. to help me organize my inquiry process and unit.
Why: It will help me gain clarity regarding the process (through the criterion). It will also contribute towards the inquiry process and help me organize my though process for the concepts taught in the unit.
What: Planning and exploring the inquiry I have chosen for myself, in order to further develop and become more prepared to create a final artwork.
How: Refer to my inquiry process for the knowledge I have gained. Use the prototype through the planning and exploration stages to create my artwork, referring to the themes I have chosen to inquire on.
What: Making an artwork based on the theme of animal forms, to help evoke personal and cultural expression.
Why: Improving my artistic techniques and delivering my intention through a creative artwork. Improving my skill with creating animal forms through a specific medium and gaining a grasp on animal anatomy.
What: Evaluating my artwork from a critical lens. Discovering my artistic intention behind the artwork and reviewing the process I used to create it.
How: Going through what went right and wrong throughout the process, including improvements I can make the next time.
Why: Understanding my areas of strength and weakness in terms of visual art, and working on improving my future artworks (reflection on the mediums and techniques I can explore next time).
