1. How can we distinguish between knowledge, belief and opinion?

knowledge is something you can falsify, has evidence/explanation that can prove why its right/ why its not wrong until new evidence shows up or is found.

Belief is having trust, faith, and acceptance that something/ someone exists even without any proof, yet there is no proof that it doesn't exist either, something intangible.

belief could is usually religion, someone or something you see is above oneself that you put your faith in. They can do no wrong only good

Opinion is something that is biased and is based on personal interest, there would be no right or wrong, such as your favourite sports team.

karma could be another belief, where you believe that if you do something good for others, good things with happen to you, vice versa.

belief on afterlife, some belief that once you're dead you will live another life so to speak

favourite sports team

favourite singer

favourite subject

best city to live in

which brand is the best

favourite tv show/movie

who is good-looking, hottest person

Contrast point: Though we can have preference over sports teams and singers, if we do enough research and analysis, wouldn't we eventually come up with the true answer of who is the best singer or sportsman? Then the answer could be true or false

gravity

newtons laws

biology, human body

chemistry

physics

most beliefs revolve around a god/ supernatural being, someone who is above everyone, someone who can control your fate

Contrast point: If there is no evidence on these ultimate beings why should we think it could be true and obsess over it. There is no evidence showing that the whole human population will die tomorrow, but there is no evidence showing that it won't happen. Clinging onto false beliefs due to the lack of evidence

counterpoint: knowledge doesn't have to be science facts developed through experiments. You can also gain knowledge through personal experience, knowledge on human interactions, empathy is not something we learn through experiments. eg what to do when someone is crying there is no direct answer of right or wrong in terms of what you should do.

why can we cite bibles?

then opinions would be

object: bible,

are theories beliefs?

object:picture of brawl stars tier list (newest version) kairos time

object: biology DP course book

object: picture of ranking of male/female singles tennis players

how to be friends book

book: ego is the enemy

relevant real world context: its important to distinguish between knowledge, belief, and opinion, as often people will think everything they know is a fact, meaning that when someone else has a different idea it automatically makes them wrong, their information false. This makes people very stubborn about their ideals and make then unwilling to listen to others, they become closed minded.

politics

values

what is right and wrong

abortion

law/justice

if personal knowledge is a type of knowledge, and the way we interpret the world is subjective, then could knowledge, supposedly the same for everyone, e different to our own personal truths.

A: Belief is something we have to take comfort in, as we want to have be sure of whats right and wrong, that we can atoned for, that there is an afterlife. Belief is something that we have where the proof of the gods existence is substandard, yet with so many believers could that make the argument seem more reasonable

scientific theories are beliefs

A:to what extent can we decide that there are no right or wrongs for better or worse. We have opinions due to preferences that sometimes cannot be explained, sometimes its based on how good they are, or maybe not

how do we get evidence that god created light and people and whatnot

def

distinguish

belief

opinion

knowledge

tell apart

know the difference

your preference

based on your own ideals and values

having trust or faith that something exists even when you can't see it, or not enough proof to justify its existence

concept: perspective, people have different perspectives
