Technology in America I think the advances in technology are very important to discuss when talking about the key factors of America. It is everywhere, and it has become apart fo our lives. It controls political ideas, it controls social constructs, and can control our lives as well. We know that technology has been so helpful to America making advances in so many ways. It really was a great creation, having smart phones, computers, IPads, ect. However, I don't think people really thought about the way technology can impact us as a whole. It has completely turned around the way most people live. Having connections over a phone instead of in real life or never being able to take your eyes off of it waiting to get the next notification. The other thing about technology is that it is not just in one aspect, it is involved in almost everything we do. I think it is important to realize these negative impacts and even try to look for ways to change it in a positive way. It is something that will never go away and will only get bigger.
Jenny O'Dell "How to do Nothing"
Jenny gives us a picture of how the way we live in this world with technology has taken away certain aspects of humans lives. She discusses how this could change everything we know about what make people, people. I like to think of it as technology making everything set in stone, everything is one way and that's how it is. If everything is only in one form how are people suppose to be different and unique. It really takes character away from people. I think this is a scary truth that needs to be discussed and watched carefully for years to come. Doing this will sustain how America came to be, how difference is okay, and how that makes America, America.
