The four humours - blood, phlegm, black bile, yellow bile. There was a belie that the four humour must be balence for good health. Seasons of birth and family could make certain humours stronger.
Astrology - physicians would consult star charts to help identify what was wrong. Traditionally the curch didnt like astrology but afte rthe Black Death, it became more popular and the church became more accepting.
