Cause
the difference in electric potential when the human body is in a resting state, the inside of the cell will be potassium (negative) and the outside will be filled with sodium ions (positive). When stimulation occurs, depolarization occurs which causes the plasma membrane to be permeable to Na+ ions that diffuse out of the membrane.
