Pedagogy
UGC norm of PhD doesn't suit, hence driving Universities crazy in trying to find qualified manpower
There are career teachers, who of course practice but have low industry involvement
Hardly any admission norms except for the top few
Curriculum
Institutes have ongoing unchangeable curriculum and then there are institutes which totally leave it to the practitioner
There being no fixed curriculum to design, being a cross functional field, there is too much variation in curriculum
Industry
Low to no industry involvement
Bloom's taxonomy is unsuitable for Design
Too much focus on concepts, and very low on skilling leaves most people as designers, who are unable to adapt to modern technology
Personality driven leading to arrogance issues that trickle down to the students
No exposure to content marketing and marketplaces
Lack of Technical Expertise in students/ Curriculum
Inability to attract the most intelligent students due to lack of awareness
