SIR GAWAIN AND THE GREEN KNIGHT, But..., Everyone was frightened so...,…
SIR GAWAIN AND THE GREEN KNIGHT
The story is set in Camelot at the King Arthur's court.
It was written in the late 14th century by an unknown author.
At the New Year's celebratoin King Arthur, Queen Guinevere and the knights of the Round table were enjoying a feast.
When suddenly
a gigantic horseman
burst into the hall.
The stranger and his horse were entirely green.
Everybody was scared and utterly speechless.
Because the man looked like a green phantom.
The wonderer had come there because he wanted to challenge King Arthur to participate in a BEHEADING GAME.
Sir Gawain took the challenge instead.
Sir Gawain beheaded the Green Knight, but he did not kill him.
Because the game Sir Gawain would have had to go to the Green Chapel until 1 year and 1 day to take the ax blow.
