Space is a very vast subject and going over it helps us learn how earth became earth and how the solar system works and how the sun helps the other 8 planets.
Explanation
Because of this unit I learned all about how earth's place in space is important. Also I learned about the consequences of what would happen if we were to close or to far away from the sun.
Connection
Everyone that plays basketball has an important role in it and without that role there team would be very different and it would change how the team plays together. Because of the vast roles of basketball there is many different styles people play and they are all important.
Earth History
Claim
My claim is Earth history is a huge unit that should be covered because without knowing earth's history we wouldn't know anything about the past like what the first animals were like, how we got to where we are today, and many other things along those lines.
Eplanation
Something I learned from Earth history is how earth was formed and how it has changed overtime like how pangea was all of our land combined making a huge island. Also how our moon was made and why it was important.
Connection
Basketball started in 1891 and over time changed a lot over the time things like the three point line and a backboard were added to the game fouls became a bigger deal to change happens everywhere and things are added and removed during them.

I connect Basketball to my claim because in a game of basketball it takes five people with each their own individual skills and even though they have their own skills they work together for one goal.
Claim
Earth Science is important because it teaches people about the earth like it's history, the space around it, and it's systems and how they work with each other and around each other to make the earth work.
Earth Systems
Claim
I claim Earth Systems unit is a huge role in learning about things like the 4 spheres that work separate and together to keep us alive, why we need these systems, and how things change over time.
Explanation
Something I learned is that there are four spheres that make our world work lithosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere there is also something called an interface area which is where all four spheres are used.
Connection
Since there are five people on a team that make up basketball and each one is good at their own skill they have to work together to win a game. Sure more skills will be used than others at some points in a game but overall the five people on the court are very different but work together for one main goal.

9.Earth systems Project
These Pictures show how backboards have changed over time. The basketball on fire kind of reminds me of an asteroid so I put it in y pictures. The picture of me shooting shows the vast skills people need to actually play the game of basketball and how important each player is.
Conclusion
Earth Science Is so important and has taught me many important thing like how earth began the space around us and earths systems and how they work without earth science I would've had no idea about any of these things. Something I already knew was that earth has changed over times and has shifted. Something I learned is that we affect earth so much and it is bad for the planet.
