Bones and Muscles
-
-
Contraction Mechanism
-
-
skeletal muscle
When a muscle moves, the attached bone also moves when it contracts
Bridge action potentials in the T tubules thereby stimulating the sarcoplasmic reticulum to release Ca2+ which then binds to the troponim and shifts so that actin and myosin attach and muscle contraction occurs
-
-
Nuromuscular Junction
-
Action potentials occur in motor neurons which will stimulate the release of neurotransmitters, namely Ach, Ach will diffuse into the plasma membrane of muscle nerve fibers and bind to their receptors resulting in changes in ion permeability which results in depolarization
