Habitat for Humanity helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. They work in different parts of the world, like Africa, Middle east, and Europe
Families who apply and are accepted to become Habitat homeowners purchase their home through a no down payment mortgage geared to their income and contribute at least 500 volunteer hours to Habitat. Once they move in, Habitat homeowners are responsible for maintaining their own home.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization working to empower people in the world's poorest communities to overcome the chronic lack of decent housing. Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live
Issues they faced:
Reeling from massive cutbacks in volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and grappling with high construction costs
