Earth Science
Oceanography
Physical oceanography - Physical oceanography is the study of physical conditions and physical processes within the ocean, especially the motions and physical properties of ocean waters.
Chemical Oceanography- Chemical oceanography encompasses the study of the chemical components of the oceans, their reactions, and their pathways of transformation.
Biological oceanography- Biological oceanography is the study of how organisms affect and are affected by the physics, chemistry, and geology of the oceanographic system.
Geological Oceanography - Geological oceanography is the study of sediments and rocks within the marine environment.
Astronomy
SPECTROSCOPY- Spectroscopy is the study of the absorption and emission of light and other radiation by matter. It involves the splitting of light (or more precisely electromagnetic radiation) into its constituent wavelengths (a spectrum), which is done in much the same way as a prism splits light into a rainbow of colours.
-
Astrophysics - Astrophysics is a branch of space science that applies the laws of physics and chemistry to seek to understand the universe and our place in it
Photometry - in astronomy, the measurement of the brightness of stars and other celestial objects (nebulae, galaxies, planets, etc.).
Meteorology
Synoptic meteorologists- The word synoptic means "view together" or "view at a common point". Therefore, synoptic meteorology is primarily concerned with viewing the weather at a common point -- time.
Dynamic meteorologists- Dynamic meteorology is the branch of fluid dynamics concerned with the meteorologically significant motions of the atmosphere.
Global Meterologists- Measure atmospheric properties, such as temperature, dewpoint, humidity, and windspeed.
Radiometry- Radiometry is the science of measurement of optical radiation at any wavelength, based simply on physical measurements.
Geology
-
Historical geology-Historical geology or palaeogeology is a discipline that uses the principles and methods of geology to reconstruct the geological history of Earth.
Environmental geology- application of geological knowledge to the investigation of processes occurring at or near Earth's surface in order to mitigate natural hazards and minimize environmental degradation.
Physical geology- physical geology, scientific discipline that is concerned with all aspects of the Earth's structure, composition, physical properties, constituent rocks and minerals, and surficial features.
