The red cross responds quickly and efficiently to help people affected by armed conflict. They respond to disasters in conflict zones.
the red cross help with a variety of different things and on behalf of people affected by war they help provide:
- access to education: making sure that children have the chance to get an education to be able to make decisions for themselves.
- addressing sexual violence: making sure that vulnerable people as well as victims are protected.
- establish economic security: making sure that people can afford essential needs
- enable people with disabilities: helping them become active members of society
- restoring family links: locating people, exchanging messages, reunite families, and clarify the fate of missing persons.
- providing safe water: providing water in conflict zones and creates or maintains sustainable living environment to reduce death and suffering and making sure that there is no damage to infrastructure and steady water supplies.

- protection of the deceased through forensic action: making sure the dead are protected and upholding the right of bereaved families to have closure and know what happened to their loved ones.

- Largest global humanitarian network, founded in Paris, in 1919, in aftermath of WWI.
- Acts before, during, and after health disasters, to improve the lives of those who are vulnerable.
- Reaches 160 million people annually through direct service.
