Santa Ana de los Ríos de Cuenca. It is crossed by the Tomebamba, Tarqui, Yanuncay and Machángara rivers, in the center-south of the inter-Andean region of Ecuador, in the basin of the Paute river, at an altitude of 2,550 meters above sea level and with a temperate Andean climate of 16.3°C on average.
