Overpopulation is when a country has more people than it can support. In order for a country to develop the government wants people to have smaller families with healthier children. Most countries do not force families into this decision, except China, who came out with the one child policy to slow down their birthrates. This helped improve the overall quality of life, and increased their rate of development. In some countries such as Bangladesh, jobs are very labour intensive, people tend to have bigger families, as it means more help and more income, but they are unable to provide basic needs such as education and expenses go up. This makes it harder for the people to cross the poverty line, and the country stays poor.
