Economic Impact
Lack of Investment - Violence is a disincentive to outside investment due to the associated risks such as lack of job stability + destruction of property
No Growth - Due to the destruction of property, businesses cannot stay open.
Unemployment - When new businesses cannot open no new jobs will be created. Also, there is a lack of job stability as businesses close.
Example - NI economy was hit badly with a lack of tourism and international investment. Unemployment was 24% in Belfast. However, since conflict has ended, the GDP has grew $130m since 1998.

Territorial Division

Residential Conc - This has happened due to people of a minority ethnic group being forced out of an area + so they seek safety living beside people of the same ethnicity, usually in inner city areas.
Groups will have clear territory marked by manifestations of their ethnicity. Solutions may be attempted but usually it cannot be found.

Autonomy - TD can sometimes result in a region gaining political control while still remaining an integral part of a ruling country.
Social Impact
Poor social mobility - Destruction of infrastructure or suffer due to lack of investment eg hospitals. Peoples movements are restricted as they are scared to leave their homes. eg 6pm curfew in NI
Homelessness - conflict forces people to flee their homes and they become refugees. OR peoples houses can be destroyed.

Ethnic Cleansing
What? It is the attempt of a whole scale removal of an unwanted ethic group from an area. This is an extreme form of segregation and discrimination.
Can include, deportation, intimidation and acts of genocide

In former Yugoslavia, during the Bosnian war, 2m refugees were forced away by ethnic cleansing.
