Liberal Feminists are focused on campaigning against sex discrimination and for equal rights and opportunities for women, e.g. equal pay.
They argue that there has been an improvement through changes in laws, such as the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, but further reform is still needed
Whilst liberal feminists do not believe that full gender equality has yet been achieved in the family, they argue that there has been gradual progress, which is supported by studies which show men are taking on a greater share of domestic labour now, than in the past.
Other feminists - criticise for failing to challenge the underlying cause of women's oppression, and believing that changes in laws alongside the changes in people's attitudes will be enough to bring equality.
