If there is a deficiency of blood clotting factors --> the webbing covering the wound is not formed properly --> blood does not stop flowing --> bleeding occurs

Definition
Hemophilia is a blood clotting disorder caused by mutations in the factor VIII gene which causes hemophilia A and factor IX which causes hemophilia B.

Profilaksis
Octogog Alfa
Octocog alpha injections are given every 48 hours in hemophilia A patients to control the amount of clotting factor VIII and replace the blood clotting factor which is too little in people with hemophilia.
Nanocog Alfa
nonacog alpha injections are given twice a week to hemophilia B patients who lack clotting factor IX.
