World Connection
Just as Hanneke and Mr.Knight gave Alma and Emma advice, children all over the world could use the same guidance their elders gave them to ensure they become good and respectable people.
By being respectable elders to Emma and Alma, Hanneke and Mr. Knight's opinions were able to affect Emma and Alma in a way where they were put into a position where they could help the girls change by helping them fix their mistakes and become better. Their signifigant roles helped shape their character and provide insight that can be used later in their lives.
