- - - - Going through the history of Educational Technology, we see that its conceptualization has undergone many changes over time, as a consequence of the evolution of our society.
        
        For this reason, CABERO (1999) points out that Educational Technology is an integrating term (as it has integrated various sciences, technologies and techniques: physics, engineering, pedagogy, psychology...).
  - - - The media and information and communication technologies continue to be the engine or catalyst of cultural and social changes.
        
        The first great milestone linked to the need for the expression of human thought were the engravings made on cave walls, large stones or animal bones by the first populations of homo sapiens more than 20,000 years ago.
  - - - The material content (software), made up of the semantic elements of the content, its structure, the didactic elements that are used.
      - The technological platform (hardware) that serves as support and acts as a mediation instrument to access the material.
      - The communication environment with the user.
      - The system of symbols (textual, iconic, sound) that it uses.
  - - - -The media are considered fundamental and essential resources for the practical development of the school curriculum.
      - -The Ministries of Education and Science of the different countries express the need to progressively incorporate media education into the school curriculum.
      - -In most of the countries studied, media education is taught within the curriculum of Primary and lower and upper Secondary (6-16 years).
      - -Each country has its peculiarities depending on the educational trajectory that has been followed in the field of media education.

  - - - Educational Technology belongs to the area of knowledge of Didactics and School Organization. That is why its importance and characteristics are:
