        A firewall is software that blocks unexpected connections coming into or out of a network
        
        By keeping more ports closed on a firewall, less internet traffic can come through, making the network more secure.
      - Encryption
        
        process of disguising a message so that it cannot be understood by anyone who hasn't got a key
      - MAC address filtering
        
        MAC address is unique to the device, the network manager can create a more secure network by using this address to limit the devices on the network.
      - Authentification
        
        the user has permission to see and use the data on the network
        
        the process of a user confirming that they are who they say they are on a computer system
        
        username, bank account number,password, pin
      - VPN
        
        VPN services are useful for securely accessing your work computer systems while you are away from the office.
