Wrote a declaration and nailed it to the door of the Wittenberg Church. He confronted the church and raised awareness of some issues. The church should stop taking money from the poor. The church should not be allowed to sell indulgences. The pope had no power to forgive sins.

Charles V set up meeting in Germany where Luther said how he felt and would not recant it. Charles V then set up the Edict of the Worms where Luther was made an outlaw and was punished for heresy
