The moral value that we get from the novel
When we really want something, we should persevere. For example Uncle Lidenbrock refused to listen to Axel’s excuses on why they should not go on the journey.
We should not endanger others because of our passion for something. Otto Lidenbrock put Axel, Hans and himself in danger by going to the center of the earth.
We must dare to take risks. Otto Lidenbrock dared to go on an adventure to the center of the earth.
The main theme of Journey to the Center of the Earth is similar to the theme of most adventure novels: perseverance in spite of hardships, even to the point of ignoring reason. The theme might also be expressed as the struggle for survival in a hostile environment.
