cytokines - Coggle Diagram
cytokines
classes of cytokines
tumor necrosis factor (TNF)
have the ability to kill the tumor cells
used by WBC to trigger an immune response
interferons(INF)
INF-a and INF-TGF are produced by viral infected cells
INF-Y can activate macrophages and CD4 cells
interlukins(IL)
act between the leukocytes and non-leuckocytes
colony stimulating factors (CSF)
they will bind to the surface of stem cells and lead to the proliferation and activation
GM-CSF
transforming growth factor (TGF)
an inhibitory factor that suppress the proliferation and differentiation of many cells
it can cause the CD4 cells to become regulatory cells to slow down the overall immune response
types
paracrine
the cells produce cytokines to affect the nearby cells
IL-2 by CD4 cells that will activate CD8
endocrine
when cells produce cytokines that will affect cells that are far away
IL-1B,IL-6,TNF-a will travel to the liver to secrete C reactive protein and brain for the mannose binding lectin
IL-1B and TNF-a can recruit other immune cells
autocrine
the cells that produce it, gets affected by it
IL-2 in CD4 cells
