Form: actions that follow each other in a story
is used to express finished action in the past
verb + -ed
a past situation or habbit
example: liked, loved, stopped, played, showed
PAST CONTINIOUS
form: was/were + verb + ing
Use: to express activities in progress before, and probably after, a particular time in the past
for descriptions
to express an interupted past activity and an incomplete activity

refers to an action in the past that was completed before another action in the past
