        ประชาชนทราบ Warning signs ของโรคมะเร็ง รวมถึงวิธีการตรวจร่างกายด้วยตนเองเพื่อค้นหาอาการผิดปกติระยะเริ่มต้นที่ควรมารับการตรวจวินิจฉัยโรค

    - - หมายถึง การป้องกันโรคมะเร็งโดยการตรวจหาความผิดปกติที่นําไปสู่การเป็นโรคมะเร็งโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในกลุ่มที่มีความเสี่ยงสูง ในทางปฏิบัติพยาบาลจะใช้การ คัดกรอง (Screening) เพื่อตรวจค้นโรคมะเร็ง และให้การรักษาในระยะที่สามารถรักษาให้หายขาดได้
