they would buy and trade furs with the first nations and lots of other people then they would try to resell them for a profit

they trevelled between the fur merchnats of montreal and the fur trade posts of the great lakes, usually they go west eventually

they where called this because they would try and seek the first nations to try and trade with them. They worked alone fro themselves, soon individual work like this would be considered illegal, however this did not stop them and they countinued to do this form of work.

some of the habitants neglected this labor and decided to work at the fur trade because they thought it was an easier way to make money. This caused problems and it would sometimes end up in court.
