Definition
is a type of text that we often encounter in everyday life, in guidebooks, recipe books and so on
Purposes
To shows how something is done, or showing readers how to do something in a certain order
Language Features
Sometimes begins with the adverb of manner (e.g. carefully, quickly, slowly, etc.)
Sentences begin with a word, phrase, or clause that indicates when a step is taken (e.g. when the spot is dry, record the time it has taken.)
Use temporal conjunctions (e.g. first, second, next, finally, etc.)
Use technical terms (e.g. upload, download, application, etc.)

Give a detailed description of the object or tool used, including size, color and quantity
