- - - - Intervention: In may Italy entered the Franco-British alliance and this caused even more political divisions
        
        nationalists, radicals and republicans (like the Futurists) strongly favoured the intervention
        
        Leaders of Catholic Church and socialists were against the intervention but did not create a big opposition to it
        
        Outstanding exception was Mussolini which was favourable to intervention
        
        Right-wing hoped for a short war - this government fell in June 1916
        
        Other interventions - radical Francesco Nitti, he favoured intervention but wanted a national war
        
        Giolitti was against the intervention and he wanted peace negations
    - - These divisions created in the war remained un resolved at its end
      - Two main parties were PSI and the Catholic Popular party - non of them has enough power to govern on its own
- - - - These industries were dependent on war therefore they went in a crisis after the war - 2 million unemployed workers
