1888-ELIOT was born in st.Louis, missouri- graduated in Philosophy at the Sorbonne, Harvard, Oxford
1914- at the outbreak of world war he settled in england. he became litherary editor. he met American poet Ezra Pound,
1915 he married Vivien Haigh-Wood
1927- he becamea British citizen. he entered the anglican Church
1948 - he won the Nobel Prize in Literature
1957- he married his second wife, Valerie Fletcher
1965- he died in London

1915- ELIOT published THE LOVE SONG OF J.ALFRED PRUFROCK
1922- he founded the literary journal THE CRITERION
1922- THE WASTE LAND: that established Eliot as the MAJOR POET an significant spokesman for his generation.
