Sometimes a lack of something could be used to compare 2 poems. For example, if a poem has a lack of imagery, and we are comparing it to a poem with imagery in every line, we could compare how this separates these poems and the effects it creates on the reader.
Make sure that we are not just discussing the themes and meanings and that we are branching out and looking at the poems as a whole, discussing the structure, the tone, the imagery and the language as well as any other relevant points
Don't look just at the similarities, but compare the differences between the 2 poems
