federalism is an excellent compromises between a strong national gov + state gov diversity
the constitution is very adaptable to change in US society
amendment process has prevented ill thought out amendments
rights liberties of American's are protected
supreme courts judicial review has made it more adaptable thought interpretive amendment (roe v wade)

the amendment process is too difficult making it almost impossible to amend outdated provisions or add parts the majority desires
power of judicial review gives the SC to much power considering they are unelected
some parts of the constitution make little sense in todays society, e.g. the electoral college
some parts do not work as the framers would have envisaged e.g. war making powers
