        Although Pip was "dreadfully frightened", but due to the "giddiness[giddy]" given from the convict holding him upside down, Pip was forced to "clung" to the convict with both of his hands. Therefore, implying the pain Pip was suffering from and the curliness of the convict.

        Dicken uses worship dictions (verbs like "pray" and "pleaded") to show the hopeless and the effortless feeling Pip was feeling, as people normally ask helps from God when it is not achievable by themself.

        Magwitch repeat the phrase of "you bring me", to emphasis the power of him so Pip would do what was told. Additionally, Dickens could also be emphasis the employee and employer relationship between Magwitch and Pip. As the former commands the latter to do something that would only benefit the former, implying that interest and fear were what hold their relationship together.

        It was wretched weather; stormy and wet, stormy and wet; and mud, mud, mud, deep in all the streets.
        
        Dickens describe the night that Magwitch arrives and reveal that he is the benefactor of him to create a pathetic fallacy to portray and to insinuate Pip's mental activities. Additionally, alliteration, "wretched weather", is used to further emphasis the glacialness of the night. Beside that, the author also uses repetition of "stormy and wet" and "mud" to furthermore emphasis unpleasant and extreme weather at that night. Thus, suggesting the shock that Pip would receive, as before 'disaster' it normally peaceful. However, it also represent the hope of Pip to marry Estella had been iced, and washed away, and covered up.
