Australian Government
3 Levels Of Government
Federal
The Federal Government is in charge of trade with other countries, foreign affairs and immigrations
State
The State government is in charge of houses, schools, hospital, police and prisons.
Local
The Local Government is in charge of rubbish collection, parks, water and sewage, roads and infrastructure
The Separation of power
The Separation of power is to distribute equal power between the Executive, the Judiciary and the Parliament.
Types of government
Democracy
A democracy is a very fair type of government. Who have lots of rights and responsibilities to follow. You have freedom of speech and you can vote for a Premier and a Prime Minister.
Monarchy
A monarchy can be a king or a queen. They are either born into the role. They pretty much are leaders of a country or a commenwealth but have the same rights as anyone else.
Dictatorship
A dictatorship gives one person full power or few power to govern the country. In a dictatorship you also only have some rights to no rights.

The Westminster system is the basis of government in Australia, at the state, territory and federal level.

Magna Carta
The Magna Carta gave all free men more rights such as a fair trial by jury and the Monarch doesn't have absolute power.
