According to Fairclough (1992), discourse identity is distinct from language use, and speech and writing can be assessed as social.
Between 1971 and 1999, coursebooks underwent noticeable changes that made the learner the center of attention. By the 1990s' close, the focus of conversation had shifted to the lives of the students.
