The Roman Catholic Community Club, located opposite the Fraciscan St. Savior Monastery (Terra Sancta) is the largest club serving the city’s Christian community, which, in the late 1970s numbered approximately 14,000. The club offers programs for adults and children, including lectures, outings, scout troops, and sports activities. The Jerusalem Foundation has supported the purchase of furnishings and equipment for the club, and in 1977 established the Francis C. Rooney Public Library at the club.
