Past Perfect
To express regret or the wish that something had happened differently, we use wishes in the past tense.

Infinitive
This usage is very formal, so you're not likely to use it. It is equivalent to "would like", but it is to find it outside of formal rare contexts or ancient language

simple past
We use wish + past continuous (were + verb –ing) to express that we want to be doing a different action in the present or in the future.

Past simple
When we imagine something improbable or impossible, but that we would like to be true, we use this structure

Could
Wish is used with could to say that we are sorry that we cannot do something in the present or in the future.

Wish is used with would to complain about a situation, to express impatience, anger or dissatisfaction with a present action
