citizens can participate in democracy by voting, protesting, making a party, becoming a leader and send an email to a member of parliament
Criminal and Civil law
Criminal law are public wrongs, prosecuted by state, proof by reasonable doubt, right to counsel and defendant has right to silence
Civil law are private matters, private parties file suit, preponderance of the evidence, must hire own attorney and defendant may be forced to testify.

Individuals are entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion
Every person is able to choose to believe, worship and pursue knowledge and understanding about a higher power, God or gods or to choose to not believe as no one can be forced to believe in any religion
Limitations: the practice of a religion may be limited in circumstances of public safety, order, health or where it might breach the rights and freedoms of orders.
Respect, tolerance and compassion
tolerance of others ideas and opinions means we can have freedom of religion, expression and communication
our respect for others means we can also accept that freedoms can be limited because we do not wish to cause or harm infringe on others
compassion is a concept in which we are able to show concern and care for others who are in a less fortunate situation than ourselves
