Cold War- the ideological struggle between capitalism in the West and communism in the East

Climate of Russia - Climate ranges from steppes in the south through humid continental in much of European Russia; subarctic in Siberia to tundra climate in the polar north; winters vary from cool along Black Sea coast to frigid in Siberia.
Tundra- a major zone of treeless level or rolling ground found in cold regions

Permafrost- a permanently frozen layer on or under Earth's surface
Chechnya- republic in southwestern Russia, situated on the northern flank of the Greater Caucasus range.
Russian Revolution - a period of political and social revolution that took place in the former Russian Empire which began during the First World War.
Taiga- The taiga is a forest of the cold, subarctic region.
