Where
the problem is happening
According to data from September 2020, 1.5 million students all over the world were affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Not only has education been disrupted for the student population, also 630 million primary and secondary school teachers were affected by COVID-19.
Nearly 147 million children missed more than half of their in-person schooling 2 years into the pandemic, with more than 27 million of them having missed at least three-quarters of in-person schooling. This amounts to 2 trillion hours of lost in-person learning globally.
