Charles Rennie Mackintosh — architect, designer and artist, was Scotland's most influential creative figures. His work, like William Morris was of enormous significance in the development of the Arts and Crafts style.
His interior design and furniture is bestknown for his designs for the Tea Roomsin Glasgow, between 1896 -1900.
Glasgow designed the architecture, stained glass, decorative panels, furniture, cutlery, and staff uniforms.
He developed original stylised design motifs based on plant forms, but theirs were rigidly contained within elongated rectangles rather than expanding into supple curves.
