Sheila's Interrogation:
Following Arthur's interrogation, Sheila begins to ask the Inspector about Eva Smith. This leads to Sheila finding out that she, in her superficial jealousy, had the girl fired from Milwards. Upon discovering this, Sheila is remorseful and shows a responsibility for her actions. Goole further explains that after losing her job, Ms. Smith turned her name to Daisy Renton, which provokes a shocked noise for Gerald.
Act Closing:
This shock by Gerald causes a divide between him and Sheila, who proceeds to ask a plethora of accusatory questions. The act ends with Sheila triumphantly exclaiming that they can't hide anything from the Inspector
