Physical Literacy- The Individual
Implementation
Intent
Impact
Create a safe and encouraging environment
Encouraging young people to engage in the future
Involve and develp all individals
Only plan to develop 1 or 2 key skills in a lesson
Teacher needs to know the current abilities and needs of their individals
Use more able students as demonstrators and play at their strengths
Self-evaluation/Self-reflection
Focus on a couple of skills and only move student on when they are showing confidence and competence
Differentiation to suit the needs of individual learners e.g. press ups on knees for less capable students
Participation rates both in and out of school during extra-curricular activities
Develop competence in thier own ability
Students develop confidence and competence in their ability due to spending more time and not being rushed
Plan to know the personalities of students. Understand the individuals
When using questioning for example, only chose student you know have the confidence to speak infront of the class
less confident students do not become fearful of entering the lesson as they know they will not be picked on for questioning. This could then increase their motivation to come to the lesson
Fitness activities - Easy to individualise as so many different variations of each exercise, can set individuals off on different exercises and no one will feel left out or unable do to such variations - everyone can do something
Contingency planning for individuals - what if someone can't do the exercise you planned to do
Everyone is involved due to differentiation
