Process of Script Writing
Step 1
Use font:-
Courier New

Font should be set to
12 points
.
Title page;
title centred and underlined

Write
who has written the script
.
Step 2
Create a slug line before each scene; written in CAPS.
Detail the scene; taking place inside (INT) or outside (EXT)
Detail
WHO
is in the scene.
WHERE
the scene takes place.
Time of day (DAY or NIGHT)
Step 3
Each page should take up a minute of screen time.
Step 4
First scene should FADE IN
Scene heading.
Explaination of what the scene setting is.
Film editing instructions; go down the right hand side.
Step 5
CAPS LOCK; Anytime the characters are mentioned.
Characters name; written in Caps Lock and centred on the page before each part of dialogue.
Each line of speech;
centred and written underneath

Step 6: Dialogue
Should reflect the characters personality and move the story on.
Writing dialogue: ask yourself
" What does this add to the story?"
"What am I trying to tell the reader about the character or the story?"
If don't have an answer to those questions, scrap the dialogue.
Step 7: Dialogue
Conversations can have
MORE THAN ONE
thing; make sure capture the subtext of the situation.
For example:
If a character trying to say "I need you", have them say it without actually saying it like "Charles, .... do you really have to go so soon?"
