A learning log is a great self assessment tool that can take the form of a notebook or journal. Learning logs can be used inside and outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom they can be used to have students document what they have studied in class while recording what they understood and didn’t. Outside the classroom they can document using what they learned, including language where they had a conversation and document how it went.
