Civil law
usually about disputes between individuals or groups.
Often arguments about rights.
e.g- company law, adoption and accidents at work.
Criminal law
This law deals with offences such as murder, theft and drug dealing.
The conflict is between the government and the law breakers.
Civil court
Small number of cases are heard in the high court.
Normally deal with complex family issues, complicated financial and legal matters such as bankruptcy
A case with £50 000 is heard in a high court.

About 90 000 cases a year are held in these courts.
A claim less than £10 000 is held in a small claim court.

The jury is a group of people who decide if someone is guilty or not.
