Criminal Cases - A criminal case is a type of court proceeding in which the defendant is tried for conduct that is considered to be illegal according to the state’s legislature, or the government
High Court - Appeals from the lower courts, constitutional cases, major legal principles
Appeals - a higher court looks at decision in a case by a lower court, may reverse it
Civil Cases - Civil cases involve conflicts between people or institutions such as businesses, typically over money.

Principles of Justice
Equality before the Law - Ensures that all laws and policies are applied equally, and not have a discriminatory effect. .
Presumption of Innocence - A legal principle that every person accused of any crime is considered innocent until proven guilty
Reasonable Appeal - A person who has been convicted in a trial or has pleaded guilty and been sentenced by a judge from either District or Supreme court has a right of appeal to the Court of Appeal of the Supreme court.
Fair Trial - A fair and public hearing, within a reasonable time, by an independent and impartial court.

Coercion/False Confession - When a suspect confesses to escape or avoid an aversive interrogation, or to gain a promised or implied reward
Trial by Media - When media coverage affects a person's reputation by creating a widespread recognition of guilt or innocence.
Court Delay - The amount of time between the start and the conclusion of court proceedings which extends the time necessarily spent in the preparation of a case for trial.

Statutory Authority - Statutory authority refers to the powers and duties assigned to a government official or agency through a law passed by Congress or a state legislature
Non-Legal Rules - Non-legal rules are also known as boundaries. Family rules, sporting clubs, school rules, peers rules are all examples of non-legal rules
