    - - Although the military was small, their military was one of the best militaries in the world at the time.
        
        Their soldiers were well fed, equipped, disciplined and paid

    - - Many men to send to Europe.
      - They had a lot of food since the launched a campaign to teach Americans how to grow food in their own garden. Since this happened it managed the nation's food.
      - Many women joined the red cross, and others either took the jobs that the men used to have (in factories, assembly lines ect.) and others stayed as housewives.
- - - - The Germans had sent a telegram to Mexico saying that they can help them retrieve the land that was taken from them.
        
        This was a mistake because the British retrieved the telegram and made it public, the US then saw this and decided to take action.
